[CounterCorp] We're springing forward! Tentative dates for 2009 CounterCorp Festival

Dear CounterCorp supporters,

	We can't believe it's that time again -- it seems like only a few  
months ago that we were announcing the 2008 CounterCorp Festival --  
but we are once again announcing the tentative dates and venue for the  
Anti-Corporate Film Festival.

	The 4th annual Festival -- and the first one we're organizing in the  
Spring -- is tentatively scheduled to take place May 14-16, 2009, at  
our old home, the Victoria Theater on 16th (between Mission and South  
Van Ness) in San Francisco's Mission District.

	Last year's Festival took place at the Brava Theater on 24th Street,  
and while we loved the beauty, comfort, and hospitality at Brava,  
we're happy to be coming back to the place were the CounterCorp  
Festival began, and where we feel quite at home.

	The dates and venue should be finalized shortly, but in the meantime  
we wanted to alert you to the abbreviated "hiatus" between last year's  
Festival and this year's, and encourage you make a contribution to  
help defray the costs of hosting the event.

	Usually we have a full year to raise money between Festivals, but  
since we only had seven months between them this time, our fundraising  
is not where it would normally be three months before the Festival.

	Add to that the current financial and economic disarray -- which  
we've been warning about for years (including as part of the Festival  
itself) -- and we hope you can appreciate the need to make a special  
appeal to our supporters.

	That said, there are over 500 subscribers on our News and Events  
mailing list, so if everyone donated just $5 (the price of a beer) or  
$10 (the price of a single movie ticket), we'd be a lot closer to  
where we need to be to present this year's Festival.

	So please consider making a contribution in any amount, either  
through our fiscal agent -- Independent Arts and Media (by selecting  
CounterCorp from the drop-down menu at https://secure.groundspring.org/dn/index.php?id=695) 
  -- or by check, made out to CounterCorp and sent to our office at  
2017 Mission Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94110. Donations to  
CounterCorp are tax-deductible.

	We are extremely grateful for any and all contributions we receive  
from our supporters, and couldn't organize the Festival or do any of

) without your help!
